In order to implement the student work arrangement of the SIAT University (preparatory) and Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT) and better carry out such tasks as student training and ideological education, the establishment ceremony of the Student Work Committee and its first plenary session were held by the School of Synthetic Biology, Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology and the Synthetic Biology Institute of the SIAT on September 19, 2022.
The meeting was attended online and offline by Zhao Wei, deputy director of the preparatory office and academic committee of the said university, Feng Wei, deputy director of the preparatory office and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the SIAT, Zhang Xian’en, honorary president of the School of Synthetic Biology, Liu Chenli, vice president of SIAT and president of Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology, Yang Fan, director of the education department of the SIAT and members of the first Student Work Committee.

In March this year, the School of Synthetic Biology and the Institute took the initiative to launch the class management of graduate students; in June this year, the Institute also established the first branch of the Student Union, which actively organized various activities such as school-enterprise action and basketball games. In order to improve the performance of students related work, the School of Synthetic Biology and the Institute jointly established a Student Work Committee on August 29. Finally, he expressed his gratitude to Director Zhao Wei, Secretary Feng Wei and relevant departments for their support all the time.

Presided over by Zhang Xian’en, the meeting deliberated and approved in principle the articles of association of the School of Synthetic Biology and the Institute; reviewed and approved the establishment of the Student Work Committee and the specific student work groups for enrollment, teaching, ideological and political education and employment guidance; and listened to the work progress and plan of the education module in the second half of the year.

In the end, Liu Chenli spoke highly of the student work of the Institute, believing that the establishment of the student work groups and the construction of the working mechanism not only made the student work gradually orderly, but also can effectively solve the pain spots of student work.
