Product synthesis typically imposes metabolic burden and stress, constraining performance. We integrate classical metabolic engineering with laboratory evolution, employing strategies such as growth‑production coupling and orthogonal pathway design to systematically reshape metabolic networks. Our goal is to construct robust cell factories that maintain metabolic homeostasis while achieving high‑level production.
