    Bioinformatics of pathogen genomes, profiling of host-pathogen interactions, CRISPR genome engineering, nano biotechnology delivery systems, antibiotics resistance mechanism, and the discovery of new antibacterial technologies against poultry.

Dr. Nurulfiza Mat Isa is a Professor at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and currently heads the Laboratory of Vaccine and Biomolecules at UPM’s Institute of Bioscience. She holds a Ph.D in Molecular Biology from UPM and has completed postdoctoral training in bioinformatics and ageing research at the University of Liverpool, UK. Her research focuses on vaccinology and bioinformatics, particularly in developing innovative poultry and human vaccines, and exploring microbial diversity and antimicrobial resistance gene networks. Dr. Nurulfiza is an active member of the COVID-19 Genomics Global – TrainAsia Focus Group, the International Veterinary Vaccinology Network, and the World Poultry Science Association, and is a recipient of the OIC COMSTECH Fellowship for advanced training in virology and vaccine technologies (2024).
