Dr. Tomoaki Matsuura is a Professor at Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI) at Institute of Science Tokyo (former Tokyo Institute of Technology) since 2020. He received his Ph.D. at Osaka University and did a postdoc at the University of Zurich, and was an Assistant and then Associate Professor at Osaka University. His interests are engineering membrane proteins using the cell-free system and cell-sized liposomes, and assembling a cell-free system that exceeds the level of an E. coli cell..
