Yao's research interests include: 1) Epigenetics; Screening potential genes regulating asymmetric histone segregation during DNA replication through rational designed histone tracing circuits. 2) Epigenetics in tumor: How parental histones are transmitted to daughter cells in tumor tissue. 3) Epigenetics and meiosis: How parental histones are transmitted during meiosis.
