The first membership conference was held successful at Shenzhen Synthesis Biology Institut

October 24^th, the first conference of the first membership of the first Institute of Synthesis Biology was held greatly at Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The conference discussion passed the statutes of Shenzhen Association of Synthesis Biology and voted for the first session of the board of supervisors of the association.

Dean Jianping FAN of SIAT made a speech and gave the guests a warm welcome and congratulation. Minister of the development department of SIAT, Yalei BI announced the official document of bureau of Civil Affairs of Shenzhen Municipality, Pro. CAI, Zhiming and the director of Synthesis Biological Engineering Center (CSynBER), Chenli LIU all gave speeches individually.

18 board members of association are elected through this conference, included associate director of Shenzhen Second People's Hospital, Weiren HUANG, associate professor of South University of Science and Technology of China (SUSTC), Wei HUANG，project collecting specially-invited researcher of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PUSGS), director Baohua LIU of Shenzhen University, director Kunmei JI and others.

Researcher, Chenli LIU was selected to be the first president of the association, Junbiao DAI became the executive vice president of the association, the Dean of Shenzhen Huada Life Science Institute, Doc. Xun XU and associate director of Shenzhen Second People's Hospital, Doc. Weiren HUANG, co-elected as vice presidents. On the other hand, associate professor Wei HUANG of SUSTC was elected as chief supervisor, and Pro. Baohua LIU of Shenzhen University and project collecting specially-invited researcher of PUSGS were elected as supervisors.

Shenzhen synthesis biology association is developing into a high-tech association from the basic research to industrialized application as one chain. It aimed to unite forces from all aspects and provide an interaction platform for domestic synthesis biology specialists, scholars, entrepreneurs and synthesis biology amateurs. The association will keep developing the global influence in the field and improving the conversion rate of scientific research results, so that it can contribute to the long term development of synthesis biology industry.
