Dr. Chen received her PhD degree in the University of Edinburgh with Prof. David Price, in the school of Biomedical Sciences (UK). Her researches focused on the mechanisms of axonal development in the mammalian brain.
In 2016 she joined Prof. Yu Chen's team at SIAT, where she focused on gene regulatory mechanisms in the thalamocortical pathway. Using conditional gene deletion approaches, optogenetics and electrophysiology, her research aims at:
1) investigating the molecular basis of specific genes in the regulation of synaptic functions and plasticity in the thalamocortical pathway.
2) understanding the molecular pathology in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's diseases.
