Activity-based Metaproteomics

Activity-based metaproteomics is a new technology based on Activity-based protein profiling, and has been used to study the active proteins in a microbial community. Activity-based protein profiling allows for the screening of a certain type of protein with specific functions in a complex life system. The proteins identified in the screen can then be synthesized in vitro, producted in large quantities, purified, their enzyme activity characterized and optimized, In the final step, the proteins of interest can be used for industrial applications.

Proteome Spatiotemporal Dynamics

The goal of proteomic spatiotemporal dynamics is to resolve kinetic changes in the proteome in time and space using proteomics techniques. Proteins exist in the form of a complex spatial network structure in the body. The signal transmission between proteins in vivo is essential in a living organism. Therefore, by analyzing the interactions between proteins in the body, we can gain a better understanding of the molecular basis of life;

Diagnostic Proteomic Methods

Proteins in the circulatory system can provide important information about an individual’s health. For example, blood, plasma, and serum are the predominant samples used for diagnostic analyses in clinical practice. The development of mass spectrometry-based high-throughput, accurate diagnostic proteomics methods has great advantages for the purpose of finding biomarkers for diseases such as tumors, neurodegenerative diseases etc.. However, MS-based plasma proteomics is extremely challenging because of the high dynamic range of protein abundances.
